Open House
Your entire family can visit JCA
during our annual Open House. You will hear from the JCA administration,
department chairs, and our outstanding faculty. You will learn about the
curriculum, clubs, sports, and more. Open House is a terrific opportunity to
experience JCA.
Placement Exam
Students applying for
admission to JCA must take the Placement Exam. Admission to JCA is based on
placement exam scores, as well as previous academic records. An application form
must be completed in order for a student to be considered for admission.
Students may register by contacting the JCA Admissions Office. JCA's Admission
Application and Placement Exam fee is $30.
Pre-Exam Workshop for 8th Graders & Parents
Eighth graders, calm your
pre-exam jitters by attending our pre-exam workshop. For parents, a brief
presentation on curriculum placement, the exam, and general information
including a question and answer session will take place in the large Chapel.
Please enter JCA through the Main Office located off Larkin Avenue.
Shadow
Days
Every Friday throughout the Fall and
Spring, JCA holds Shadow Days for junior high students. Junior High students
will be paired with a JCA student with similar interests and experiences.
Shadow days allow junior high students to get a real feel for a regular school
day at
Step-Up Day
JCA's annual Step-Up Day is typically held
the first Friday in November.
Eighth graders are welcome
to spend the morning at JCA meeting students, faculty, club moderators, and
coaches. Step-Up Day is the perfect opportunity to experience what it is like to
be an Angel or Hillman.
Can't attend Step-Up Day, schedule a Shadow
Visit. You and a current Angel or Hillman will be paired together for the entire
day. See the students and teachers interact in a classroom setting. You will
walk the halls, enjoy lunch in the cafeteria, and meet new friends as you get a
glimpse of what JCA is all about.
